Today is the anniversary of the Battle of Fulford, when the Fryd's of Northumberland and Mercia under the command of Earl's Morcar and Edwin defended the North from the largest Viking army to ever attack England. The young Earls with no previous experience of war formed a shield wall and fought the Viking army of king Harold the Stern. The greatest warrior of his day. At the long and bloody battles end, the Saxon warriors lay thick and heavy on the ground. King Harold of Norway had won his last battle. We today pray to Tiw and our Saxon ancestors who fell that day but won fame as men of courage and true son's of England. We pray that the men of the North who share the same DNA never make war on each other again, NO MORE BROTHER WARS.
